Description
A 165psi relief valve is a type of safety valve that opens when the pressure in a system exceeds 165 psi. This allows excess pressure to escape, preventing the system from being damaged or causing an explosion.
Relief valves are used in a variety of applications, including air compressors, boilers, pressure vessels, and hydraulic systems. They are an essential safety feature for any system that operates under pressure.
When the pressure in a system exceeds 165 psi, the spring-loaded valve disc in the relief valve is forced open. This allows excess pressure to escape through the valve outlet. The valve will remain open until the pressure in the system drops below the set point.
165psi relief valves are typically made of brass or stainless steel and are available in a variety of sizes and configurations. They are typically installed in series with other valves, such as pressure switches and pressure regulators.
