Description
A low-pressure (LP) breathing air regulator is a device that reduces the high pressure of compressed air from a breathing air cylinder to a lower pressure that is safe and comfortable for breathing. LP breathing air regulators work by using a diaphragm or piston to control the flow of air into the breathing circuit. The regulator will automatically adjust the flow of air to maintain the set pressure, regardless of the pressure in the breathing air cylinder.
A variety of features, such as:
- A pressure gauge to indicate the regulated pressure
- A safety relief valve to prevent over-pressurization
- A shut-off valve to turn off the air supply
- A filter to remove contaminants from the air supply
