Description
A magnetic door switch, also known as a reed switch, is a type of proximity switch that uses a magnetic field to operate. It consists of two main components: a reed switch and a magnet. The reed switch is a small, sealed glass capsule containing two ferromagnetic contacts. The magnet is typically a small, cylindrical piece of metal.
When the two components are brought close together, the magnetic field from the magnet causes the ferromagnetic contacts in the reed switch to close. This completes the electrical circuit, which can then be used to trigger an alarm, turn on a light, or operate other devices.
