Magnetic Proximity Switch

Description

A magnetic proximity switch is a type of sensor that detects the presence of a magnetic field. It is a non-contact sensor, meaning that it does not need to physically touch the object it is detecting. This makes it ideal for applications where physical contact is not possible or desirable, such as in harsh or hazardous environments.

Magnetic proximity switches are typically made up of two main components: a reed switch and a permanent magnet. The reed switch is a hermetically sealed glass capsule containing two ferromagnetic reeds.

The permanent magnet is mounted near the reed switch and creates a magnetic field around it. This causes the reeds in the reed switch to close, completing the electrical circuit.
