A rocker switch/off-(on) is a type of switch that has three positions: off, on, and off. It is also known as a three-position toggle switch or a DPDT (double-pole, double-throw) switch.

Rocker switches/off-(on) are commonly used in applications where a circuit needs to be turned on and off multiple times, such as in power tools, appliances, and industrial equipment. They can also be used to select between two different circuits, such as in a car radio or a multi-function switch.

When the switch is in the off position, the two contacts on the left are connected, and the two contacts on the right are disconnected. When the switch is moved to the on position, the two contacts on the left are disconnected, and the two contacts on the right are connected.

Rocker switches/off-(on) can be either momentary or toggle. Momentary switches turn on and off when the button is pressed, and turn off again when the button is released. Toggle switches stay in the on or off position until they are manually switched to the other position.
