Description
A Thermal Reset Breaker T-1 is a type of circuit breaker that uses a bimetallic strip to detect and interrupt excessive current flow. The bimetallic strip is made of two different metals with different coefficients of thermal expansion. When the strip is heated, the two metals expand at different rates, causing the strip to bend.
If the current flow exceeds a certain threshold, the bimetallic strip will bend enough to trip the breaker, interrupting the circuit and preventing damage to the electrical components.
Thermal Reset Breakers T-1 are commonly used in automotive applications, such as to protect the power supply to the headlights, radio, and other electrical components.
